An introduction to Catton Grove Primary School!
Mr Tim Lawes is our Headmaster, and our Erasmus team consists of Miss Ellie Barnes, Miss Jessica White, Miss Debbie Collinson, Mrs Claire Shenton and Mr Ian Williams. A bit about our school: In 2007 Catton Grove First School and Catton Grove Middle School joined together to become Catton Grove Primary School. We are now a school with over 700 students aged between 3 and 11 - along with 95 dedicated staff! The school is built on one floor and in addition to the 23 classes and is very proud of it's specialist departments. Here are a few. English Department: Our Literacy Champion, Mr. Greenall, is involved in activity across the School and with every student. Students regularly publish their work Nationally with Pobble, record poetry in the music room and read stories in School assemblies. Performing Arts: We love performing! We regularly showcase our talents in carnivals, public performances and our own school play productions. Sports Department: The dedicated sports department has 2 large sports halls which are fully kitted to accommodate many sporting activities as well as the MUGA (multi use games area). CGPS sport teams practice and play weekly and are very proud of the trophy cabinet! Library: The CGPS Library is an inspiring space that allows students to explore and learn using books, technology and creativity. The whole School regularly engages in library led events such as world book day. The library is a hive of activity that is open as long as the school is open! Music Department: The music department has professional recording and music production facilities along with a Rock School, Orchestral Programme & Choir that students can join. The Orchestra has recently performed for HRH Prince Charles of Wales & Dame Judi Dench at a Sandringham Gardens event.
